Thanks Barry. I agree that the OHS profession needs to be more vocal, now that the influence of trade unions is declining (slowly) in line with its depleted union membership.

Your analogy of the table legs is apt. Perhaps rather than a “seat at the table”, OHS needs to be part of the table.

If that can be likened to a three-legged table, around which the trio gathers to progress OHS matters, a fourth leg is more stable. That’s the OHS community. Perhaps if the OHS community was noisier, regulators might take more notice.
