By the way, many families do not put in a claim, as the stigma of suicide is still with us today

change of ownership of a business
Long time employees being laid off
continous issues around pay being incorrect
Worksite sabotaged
finally, walked off the site after 30 years of employment
middle of night “could you come in and fix a breakdown”
Job fixed despite being, made redundant and walked off the premises
three weeks lated, a suicide
And that is just one, not to mention the Ansett issue, or banks having mass redundancies

Yet it is not fully understood.
A person may suicide, and his/her work mates will say, ‘oh they had issues at home”, yet the family may say it was work that was the issue.
It is time we did some more work around this issue.
Many families may miss out on making a claim if work was a contributing factor, and who tells them????
A man dies in his workplace, yet is is not really seen as a work death/suicide, Why?
We look at the number of Veterinary workers who take their life and no one questions the work factor! As I said more needs to be done, it is too long since we did Work Factors in Suicide, and yet it still happens!
