I too have work-related tinnitus (from pre OHS profession days) along with the hearing loss that occurred in the same extreme noise incident. Traditional meditation has been impossible ever since. Certain high frequencies are masked or drowned out by the tinnitus. It can mean I do not hear, or hear clearly, messages and thus may exacerbate or create a hazard or reduce the effectiveness of mitigations. I fear a generation of slow onset hearing loss and tinnitus from ear buds. Heck – let’s tax sugar, demonise fat and salt, and mock the overweight but do not mention the oncoming deafness epidemic.
