Traditional meditation has been impossible ever since. Certain high frequencies are masked or drowned out by the tinnitus. It can mean I do not hear, or hear clearly, messages and thus may exacerbate or create a hazard or reduce the effectiveness of mitigations. I fear a generation of slow onset hearing loss and tinnitus from ear buds. Heck – let’s tax sugar, demonise fat and salt, and mock the overweight but do not mention the oncoming deafness epidemic.
